Overview
Responsible for the creative formulation of novel beverage prototypes as well as the beverage execution to the commercialization stage
Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Develop strong working relationships with outside vendors (flavor houses, consultants) to create innovative and cost effective combinations of flavors, juices and functional ingredients to deliver speed to market beverage prototypes ready for commercialization

Articulate key flavor and sensory descriptors and attributes

Understand flavor regulatory issues within the US, Canada and International communities

Lead and participate in cross functional team environments to ensure product commercialization success

Manage the development and commercialization of new beverage products (plans projects, designs experiments, collects data, and analyzes results and commercializes in plants , conducts bench top development)

Plan for contingencies and be flexible when a project direction changes

Identify and utilize new technologies to bring competitive advantage to Company

Identify and implement process improvement and cost savings and other opportunities related to flavor, juice or ingredient applications to achieve the development of products. Participate in development strategy and supplier base qualification

Maintain specifications and documentation on projects under areas of responsibility
Education Required
-
Bachelor's Degree in Food Science is required - a Master's Degree is preferred
Experience Required
-
Candidates should have a minimum of 5-7 years of experience developing beverages from concept to commercialization

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Effective communication skills (oral, written and presentation)

Proven track record in developing beverages and ability to understand and apply the process of screening and combining flavors and juice concentrates for speed to market delivery of innovative and cost effective beverages
