Responsibilities Include:

Provide Technical expertise on production of fruit-based products

Be US expert on product formulation / taste / train Plant tasters

Trouble shoot at Plant as needed / formulations / QA issues

Design product specs and production SOPs
-
Install new products at plant
1. Lead US new product and package development process
-
Plan and execute test runs for the development of various prototypes in lab, pilot plant and at productions facilities. Document results
-
Provide guidance/Liaison to Europe R&D on US new product designs/needs
-
Leverage R&D Technical Center for product adaptation activities
-
Lead US package design with Company packaging engineers, and plant operations

Build knowledge base around product design / fruit combinations / fruit trends
-
Source and maintain vendor relationships to secure the necessary ingredients that align with the Company standards. Qualify alternative ingredient supply for quality / cost improvement
2. Develop Fruit Nutrition experience/knowledge

Insure formulations deliver desired nutrition / desired claims – adapt as needed
-
Liaison with WWF Nutrition / Regulatory groups for regulatory compliance
3. Liaison with Plant Quality Assurance personnel, as needed, to insure consistent quality production
4. Work with Company Consumer Affairs to resolve any product complaints / issues
5. Assist in arranging sensory evaluations and consumer taste panels
6. Provide assessment; develop knowledge base of competitive products vs. our product
7. Assure conformity to applicable standards
8. Assure successful commercialization of new products meeting quality objectives
Experience Required: 3 to 5 years of food research/production experience
Education Required: B.S. in Food Science or related field
